The product parameters of silicon carbide ferroalloys (usually abbreviated as silicon carbide or SiC, and more commonly referred to as SiC as a deoxidizer or additive in the context of ferroalloys) are usually defined from three aspects: chemical composition, physical form, and performance indicators.
1. Reaction activity:
· An indicator that measures the rate of its participation in chemical reactions when used as a deoxidizer or additive.
. SiC with high purity and suitable particle size has better reactivity.2. Increased silicon yield/increased carbon yield:
· Refers to the proportion of silicon and carbon elements in SiC that are effectively absorbed into molten steel or iron during the smelting process.
. The higher the yield, the better the cost-effectiveness, usually ≥ 85%. 3. Fire resistance: Due to its extremely high melting point, it is also commonly used as a refractory material.4. Silicon carbide has corrosion resistance, thermal shock resistance, wear resistance, and good thermal conductivity.
5. Silicon carbide has high temperature resistance, high strength, good thermal conductivity, and impact resistance; Silicon carbide has strong wear resistance
7. Silicon carbide has good thermal conductivity and stability p>
